Case Study · Recruitment

From page four to page two of Google, and 43 top-10 rankings, over 16 months of SEO.

Impact HR Group had a strong reputation and a healthy referral base, but its website wasn't pulling its weight as a lead channel. It was effectively invisible for anything but the brand name. Here's how sustained, accountable SEO turned that around.

~40 → ~16average Google position, page four to page two
National recruitment firm Australia Labour hire, permanent, temp & volume Blue & white collar 16-month engagement, from March 2025 SEO, content & reporting

A strong brand that Google couldn't find.

When we began in March 2025, average position sat around 40, page four, where almost nobody clicks. The unbranded searches employers use before they know a company by name produced almost no traffic, and a large share of impressions came from overseas markets that would never convert.

  • Average search position around 40, most pages stuck on page four of Google.
  • The non-brand searches employers actually use drove almost no traffic.
  • Overseas impressions diluted the data and masked real Australian performance.
  • A strong referral base, but a website that wasn't generating qualified enquiries.

Sustained SEO, accountable every month.

On-page SEO rebuild

Optimised meta titles, descriptions and page structure across service, location and contact pages so each targeted a clear search intent.

Monthly content packs

Produced SEO-optimised articles answering the questions employers actually search, casual employee entitlements, the true cost of a bad hire, workforce planning, building topical authority in employment and recruitment.

Australian focus, honest reporting

Sharpened targeting to the client's real market instead of chasing overseas impressions, and delivered monthly Search Console reports that explained what each metric meant for the business, with priorities re-set every month on the data.

Real traffic, in the market that converts.

The contact page became the site's strongest converting entry point, 1,159 clicks at an average position of 6.7 and a 5.08% click-through rate, while 89 blog pages generated over 195,000 impressions. The biggest ranking gains landed around six months in, and have held and improved since.

"When we started, nobody found us on Google unless they already knew our name. Now we rank for the questions our clients are actually asking. The monthly reporting means we always know what the numbers mean for our business, not just what they are."
